American Heroes Challenge Scheduled For Nov. 6-7 At Clark County Shooting Park In Las Vegas
Second annual competition for law enforcement, military teams to fund Las Vegas Veterans Memorial

LAS VEGAS, Sept. 21, 2010 - The American Heroes Challenge announces its second annual two-day multi-stage firearms and tactics competition will take place at the Clark County Shooting Park, 11357 North Decatur Blvd., in Las Vegas on Saturday, Nov. 6 and Sunday, Nov. 7. Presented by American Shooters, the event is open to the public and will kick off the city of Las Vegas' Veterans Week. All of the proceeds from the American Heroes Challenge will go toward the goal of raising at least $1 million for the construction of a world-class veterans memorial in Las Vegas, the only major metropolitan city without such a memorial.

American Heroes Challenge was designed to test the technical, tactical and physical capabilities of the nation's armed forces and first responders from across the country. During the two-day competition, teams of five consisting of military, first responder and law enforcement professionals will use innovative problem-solving methods, teamwork, and their special skill sets to complete tasks in scenarios designed to push the limits of their abilities and determine which team is the best of the best. Participants will compete in events encompassing low-light operations, manual breeching, building searches, injured operator rescue and rapid deployment skills.

"We are extremely excited to hold this year's American Heroes Challenge at the Clark County Shooting Park. Not only has park management and staff been incredibly helpful in making this year's competition a reality and supporting the mission of American Heroes Challenge, but the facility is first-rate and will allow the creation of challenging competition stages," said Ernie Beckwith, director of Ranges and Education at American Shooters and event director of American Heroes Challenge. "We look forward to creating a long lasting relationship with the park and Clark County representatives."

The Clark County Shooting Park opened last December and features shotgun, rifle, pistol and archery ranges, and has received a five-star rating from the National Shooting Sports Foundation Association of Shooting Ranges. The park will offer American Heroes Challenge participants and attendees increased spectator viewing of the entire event; an education center complete with climate controlled, presentation-ready classrooms; and great diversity in range types, which will allow for complex stages of competition.

The American Heroes Challenge is a charitable organization created to pay tribute to members of the military, law enforcement and first responder communities. The goal is to provide a long-term ongoing charitable vehicle dedicated to funding projects that benefit and honor those who give so selflessly to making our country and communities a safer place. The Las Vegas Veterans Memorial is the American Heroes Challenge debut project.

"The American Heroes Challenge is a means to honor those who go beyond the call of duty on a daily basis, and I am proud to have the opportunity to give back to a community that puts the needs of others before themselves. The Las Vegas Veterans Memorial is the first of many projects this charity will support in future years," said Michael Millett, president of American Shooters and director of American Heroes Challenge.
